**New Delhi, April 23, 2025** – The Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) elections, postponed after a violent incident on April 18th, will now proceed as scheduled on April 25th. The university’s election committee confirmed the resumption of the electoral process today, releasing the final candidate list. Thirteen candidates are vying for the president’s position, with five each contesting for vice-president, general secretary, and joint secretary. The April 18th incident, involving vandalism at the committee’s office, sparked accusations between Left-affiliated student groups and the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), an organization linked to the RSS. Results of the election are expected on April 28th.
