Tue Apr 22 12:08:29 UTC 2025: ## Isha Foundation Denies Child Sexual Abuse Allegations
**Coimbatore, April 22, 2025** – The Isha Foundation has vehemently denied allegations of child sexual abuse at one of its schools, asserting that the claims are “false, malicious, and defamatory.” The allegations, filed under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Indian Penal Code, stem from a complaint filed by the mother of a former student.
The foundation claims that an incident of bullying was investigated in 2019, resulting in the student’s transfer. They maintain that no sexual assault occurred. Further, they point to the complainant’s elder son continuing his education at the school for three years after the alleged incident, even receiving recommendation letters and subsequently writing a positive testimonial. This son also volunteered at the school after graduation.
Adding weight to their denial, the foundation highlights that three months after the alleged incident, the complainant applied for admission for her younger son. Furthermore, the foundation states that the complainant herself volunteered at the school until March 2024, when her association was terminated due to complaints about her conduct.
The Isha Foundation alleges that the current accusations are a retaliatory measure following her dismissal and constitutes a “calculated effort to malign the reputation of the school and the ashram.” They have initiated legal action in response to the allegations.
