Mon Apr 21 09:33:36 UTC 2025: ## Telangana and Kitakyushu Partner to Build Eco-Friendly Hyderabad

**Hyderabad, India – April 21, 2025** – The Telangana government has partnered with several leading Japanese firms to develop an “Eco Town” in Hyderabad, drawing inspiration from Kitakyushu, Japan’s remarkable environmental transformation. This initiative, announced by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy following a delegation trip to Japan, will leverage Japanese expertise in circular economy, waste management, recycling, and environmental restoration.

Letters of Intent (LoIs) were signed between the Telangana government and companies including EX Research Institute, P9 LLC, Nippon Steel Engineering, New Chemical Trading, and Amita Holdings. These firms will contribute their investment and technological know-how to the project.

Chief Minister Reddy highlighted the shared vision of creating a clean, circular, green, and sustainable future for Hyderabad, mirroring Kitakyushu’s success in transitioning from one of the world’s most polluted cities to a clean and green model. Kitakyushu Mayor Kazuhisa Takeuchi, who welcomed the Telangana delegation, pledged his city’s support in sharing knowledge, processes, technology, and experience to accelerate Hyderabad’s environmental progress. The collaboration aims to establish a Net Zero target for the future of Hyderabad’s development.
