**Shivamogga, Karnataka, April 21, 2025** – A police investigation is underway in Shivamogga, Karnataka, after a student alleged that he was forced to remove his sacred thread before entering a Common Entrance Test (CET) examination hall on April 16th. The student, who only reported the incident after seeing similar accounts in the media, claims examination staff directed him to remove the thread during a security check at a government pre-university college in Sagar. He later discovered the thread discarded in a dustbin.
His parents filed a complaint with Sagar Town police on April 19th, prompting Shivamogga Deputy Commissioner Gurudatta Hegade to order an inquiry. While authorities are reviewing CCTV footage, sources indicate the relevant area may not be covered by cameras. The investigation is ongoing.
