**COIMBATORE, April 21, 2025** – The Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) in Coimbatore conducted a raid on Monday, uncovering ₹15.89 lakh in unaccounted cash from the manager of a handloom weavers’ cooperative society. Soundappan, manager of the Sri Ramalinga Choodambiga Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society in Vadambachery near Sulur, was found to be in possession of the bribe money, allegedly collected from weavers across various districts including Coimbatore, Madurai, Tiruchi, and Kancheepuram. The bribe was reportedly solicited from weavers receiving government subsidies. The DVAC seized the cash and launched a further investigation into the matter.
