**Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh –** A 23-year-old medical student, Sriram Praneeth, died by suicide on Saturday after reportedly jumping from a building at a private medical college in Tagarapuvalasa. The incident has sparked protests from fellow students who allege the college management is responsible.
According to local MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao, students claim an invigilator withheld Praneeth’s OMR answer sheet during an exam, despite his repeated requests for its return. Following the exam, Praneeth reportedly took his own life. Mr. Rao stated that the college management’s response to the incident was irresponsible.
Police are investigating the incident, reviewing CCTV footage to determine the circumstances surrounding the student’s death. Mr. Rao warned that if any evidence of harassment by the college management emerges, strict action will be taken. The ACP North Zone is leading the investigation.
