Sun Apr 20 12:32:19 UTC 2025: ## Karnataka Milk Federation Threatens Action Over Farmer Payments
**Mysuru, April 20, 2025** – The Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF) has issued a stern warning to milk producers’ unions, threatening stringent action if farmers are not paid fairly for their milk. KMF Managing Director B. Shivaswamy conducted inspections of several unions on Friday, emphasizing that farmers must receive remuneration based on the fat and SNF content of their milk. He stressed the importance of treating milk producers with respect and ensuring timely payments, highlighting that farmers are the backbone of the nation’s food supply.
Shivaswamy’s visit follows a recent ₹4 per litre increase in milk prices, implemented earlier this month to address rising production costs for farmers, which have increased by 35% to 40%. The KMF, under the leadership of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, is reportedly performing well, with its products now reaching markets outside Karnataka, including Delhi. The KMF’s actions underscore the government’s commitment to ensuring fair compensation for farmers amidst increasing input costs.
