**Tiruchi, Tamil Nadu, April 20, 2025** – Eighty people were injured during Jallikattu bull-taming events held on Sunday in Nadu Irungalur and Arasadipatti villages in Tamil Nadu. In Nadu Irungalur, 723 bulls were released for 285 participants, resulting in 40 injuries. Three individuals required treatment at a private hospital, while 37 received outpatient care at the event. The Arasadipatti event saw 614 bulls and 246 participants, with 40 injuries reported. Eight people, including a police constable, were transferred to Pudukottai Government Medical College Hospital, while 32 others were treated on-site. The events, while traditional, highlight the inherent risks associated with the sport.
