Sat Apr 19 02:10:00 UTC 2025: **National Archives Releases Thousands of Pages on Robert F. Kennedy Assassination**

Washington, D.C. – April 18, 2025 – The National Archives released over 10,000 pages of documents related to the assassination of Senator Robert F. Kennedy today, fulfilling a portion of President Trump’s Executive Order 14176. The order mandated the declassification of records pertaining to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert F. Kennedy, and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

This initial release comprises documents from various sources, including Senator Kennedy’s personal papers (Attorney General Files, Pre-Administration Papers, Senate Papers, and Presidential Campaign Papers), along with Ford Press Releases from 1968. The documents are available online and will be added to the collection on a rolling basis as further review and processing is completed.

The National Archives collaborated with other federal agencies to expedite the review process, prioritizing transparency under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). While striving for maximum disclosure, some information may remain redacted as legally required. The released documents include both black and white and color scans; the former were initially used for efficiency, but color scans replaced illegible black and white pages.

The National Archives continues to work with federal agencies to identify and transfer any remaining relevant records for future release. The public is encouraged to visit the National Archives website for access to the released documents.
