Sat Apr 19 15:15:57 UTC 2025: ## Local SHGs in Mangaluru Awarded for Excellence
**Mangaluru, April 19, 2025** – Three self-help groups (SHGs) in Mangaluru were awarded substantial cash prizes at a district-level exhibition showcasing their products. The Guthigar Amara Sanjeevini SHG took first place, receiving ₹1 lakh, followed by Golthamajalu Asheervada Sanjeevini SHG (₹75,000) and Balnadu Samruddhi Sanjeevini SHG (₹50,000). Additional awards were given to top-performing active SHGs.
The event, held at the Mangaluru Taluk Panchayat premises, was a joint effort by the district administration, Zilla Panchayat, Skill Development and Livelihood Department, and Sanjeevini Karnataka State Rural Livelihood Mission Society. Over 70 products from 30 stalls were displayed.
Mangaluru Assistant Commissioner Harshaverdhana S.J. inaugurated the event. ZP Project Director K.E. Jayaram encouraged the women members to pursue further certifications, such as FSSAI and trade licenses, to expand their businesses.
