**Detroit, MI (April 17, 2025)** – Metro Detroiters enjoyed the warmest day of spring so far today, but the pleasant weather may be short-lived. The 4Warn Weather team predicts a chance of thunderstorms Friday night into Saturday morning, though the risk has been downgraded.
While Friday will see partly sunny skies and highs near 80 degrees, a slow-moving cold front poses a threat of severe weather later in the day. However, the Storm Prediction Center has lowered the risk level to “slight” (1 out of 5), as the storms are expected after 10 PM, reducing the daytime heating crucial for severe weather development. Any lingering showers on Saturday morning should clear, leaving most of the weekend dry. Easter Sunday is forecast to be mostly sunny, with any potential showers occurring overnight.
