**Thiruvananthapuram, April 17, 2025** – A suspended IAS officer, Mr. Prasanth, appeared before Chief Secretary Sarada Muraleedharan on Wednesday for a disciplinary hearing. The government alleges Mr. Prasanth violated Civil Service rules by disparaging senior officers on social media, disrupting service cohesion, and showing insubordination. Mr. Prasanth’s request to live-stream the hearing was denied by Ms. Muraleedharan. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan stated the matter is purely disciplinary and the government is obligated to follow due process. Mr. Prasanth is expected to respond to the charges during the hearing.
