**NEW DELHI, April 17, 2025** – The Delhi government announced a significant increase in minimum wages for blue-collar workers, impacting an estimated 40 lakh individuals across various sectors. The revised rates, effective April 1st, 2025, were announced by Delhi Labour Minister Kapil Mishra.

The increase affects workers in government and private sectors, including construction, sanitation, healthcare, and the unorganized sector. Minister Mishra emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring fair compensation for all laborers and highlighted the previous administration’s failure to address timely wage revisions.

The new minimum monthly wages are:

* **Unskilled workers:** ₹18,456 (up from ₹18,066)
* **Semi-skilled workers:** ₹20,371 (up from ₹19,929)
* **Skilled workers:** ₹22,411 (up from ₹21,917)
* **Non-matriculate employees:** ₹20,371 (up from ₹19,929)
* **Matriculate (non-graduate) employees:** ₹22,411 (up from ₹21,917)
* **Graduate and above:** ₹24,356 (up from ₹23,836)

Minister Mishra warned employers that non-compliance with the new rates will result in strict legal action. The government believes this wage hike will improve the quality of life for millions of Delhi’s workers and empower them to become more self-reliant.
