**Atlanta, GA** – FIFA is considering a playoff match between LAFC and Club América for a spot in the expanded Club World Cup, following the removal of Club León from the tournament due to multi-club ownership regulations.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced the potential playoff on Monday, stating that if the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) upholds FIFA’s decision to remove León, a match between LAFC (runners-up in the Concacaf Champions League) and Club América (the next highest-ranked team) will be held to determine the final Concacaf representative. A final decision from CAS is expected within a couple of weeks.
