**Palakkad, Kerala, April 16, 2025** – The Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) office in Palakkad, Kerala was evacuated this afternoon following a bomb threat delivered via email. Bomb disposal and dog squads are currently searching the premises.
A senior police officer, speaking to a local TV channel, confirmed the evacuation and ongoing search. The email allegedly claimed an RDX explosive device had been planted and would detonate at 1:30 PM. The threat also purportedly linked the timing to the alleged elimination of AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami.
Similar emails have reportedly been received in other Kerala districts, leading police to investigate whether the threat is a hoax. The officer stated that the search would continue until the time specified in the email.
This incident follows a series of similar email bomb threats in March targeting collector’s offices in Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, and Wayanad, all of which proved to be false alarms. The investigation is ongoing.
