**Vellore, Tamil Nadu – April 16, 2025** – A 42-year-old farmer, C. Sriramulu, was arrested Tuesday by Paradarami police for possessing an illegal single-barrel, country-made gun. Police, acting on a tip-off, searched Sriramulu’s home in Ramamalai village near Gudiyatham, a town bordering Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. A two-hour search uncovered the gun hidden in a nearby paddy field, along with gunpowder and other explosives. Sriramulu has been charged and remanded to Vellore Central Prison. Preliminary investigations suggest he purchased the firearm years ago in Kerala to protect his crops from wild animals.
