Mon Apr 14 01:00:00 UTC 2025: **BJP Leaders Accuse Congress of Ignoring Ambedkar’s Contributions**

HYDERABAD, Telangana – Union Ministers Kishan Reddy and Bhanu Prakash, along with BJP MP Arvind, have criticized the Congress party for allegedly neglecting the contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution. Speaking at various events across Telangana on Sunday, the BJP leaders claimed that Congress not only overlooked Ambedkar’s achievements but actively worked against him.

Reddy highlighted that Nehru allegedly campaigned against Ambedkar during elections. He further stated that the BJP government, under Prime Minister Modi, is actively working to honor Ambedkar’s legacy, citing the designation of five key locations in Ambedkar’s life as “Panch Tirthas”. Reddy also criticized the Congress for its failure to even place Ambedkar’s portrait in Parliament.

Bhanu Prakash added that Congress had a history of not only ignoring Ambedkar but also actively undermining him. He specifically mentioned the 1951 Hindu Code Bill and Ambedkar’s subsequent resignation from the cabinet over disagreements with Nehru on social justice issues. Prakash also pointed out that Congress fielded a candidate against Ambedkar in the 1954 by-election, contributing to his defeat.

The BJP leaders’ statements came during Ambedkar Jayanti celebrations, where they participated in cleaning and decorating Ambedkar statues. The accusations are likely to escalate the ongoing political debate in Telangana leading up to potential elections. The Congress party is yet to respond to these allegations.
