Sun Apr 13 09:23:06 UTC 2025: ## Visakhapatnam Tourism Official Urges Increased Air Connectivity
**Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, April 13, 2025** – The Tours and Travels Association of India (TTAI) Chairman, O. Naresh Kumar, has called on Union Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu to restore international flights from Visakhapatnam airport and increase domestic connectivity. In a representation submitted on Sunday, Kumar highlighted the positive impact that reinstating flights to Dubai, Colombo, Bangkok, and Kuala Lumpur would have on the North Andhra and Godavari districts. He emphasized the previously high occupancy rates of these routes.
Kumar also advocated for the introduction of direct flights to several Indian cities, including Bhubaneswar, Kolkata, and Coimbatore, as well as more convenient flight schedules to Vijayawada. Furthermore, he stressed the urgent need for a dedicated cargo flight service to facilitate the pharmaceutical and other industries in Srikakulam and Anakapalli districts. He warned that the reduction in flight services could hinder regional industrial progress. Finally, Kumar suggested offering concessions on flight parking fees to incentivize airlines to operate more flights from Visakhapatnam.
