SIRPUR (T), INDIA – A father in Sirpur (T) mandal, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad district, has been arrested for disposing of his son’s body in the Penganga River after the son accidentally died from an electric fence.
According to police, Chiranjeevi, a farmer, had erected an electric fence around his field. On Wednesday night, his younger son, Jayender (19), was electrocuted while accompanying his father to the field. Fearing the consequences, Chiranjeevi, along with a neighbor, Cheliram, disposed of Jayender’s body in the river.
On Thursday, Chiranjeevi reported his son missing to the police. However, villagers discovered Jayender’s body in the river on Saturday. Marks from electric wires on the body led police to question Chiranjeevi, who confessed to his crime.
Both Chiranjeevi and Cheliram have been arrested and charged with concealing a death and other related offenses. The incident has shocked the local community.
