**JERSEY CITY, NJ (CBS New York) —** The third annual Jersey City Marathon and Half Marathon, a 2026 Boston Marathon qualifier, is set to take place this Sunday, April 13th, 2025, despite a recent helicopter crash near the race route. The race, known for its fast and flat course, will start at 7 a.m. in Newport Center and finish at Newport Green. Runners are urged to arrive by 6 a.m., with bib pickup on race day opening at 5 a.m. Bag check will be available from 5:30 a.m. to 7 a.m.
The marathon course will take runners through various Jersey City neighborhoods, offering spectators prime viewing locations near the start/finish lines and along Grand Street. The race organizers have not yet commented on whether the Thursday helicopter crash near the Hudson River will impact the event.
