Sat Apr 12 10:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Quetta Gladiators Aim for PSL Glory with New Captain and Balanced Squad
**RAWALPINDI, PAKISTAN** – The Quetta Gladiators are entering the Pakistan Super League (PSL) X with renewed optimism under their newly appointed captain, Saud Shakeel. After a period of inconsistent performance, including four consecutive seasons without reaching the playoffs, the 2019 champions are confident of a strong showing this year.
Shakeel expressed his belief in the team’s balanced squad, stating, “The last few seasons haven’t been good for Quetta, and like all other teams, we have tried our best to assemble a quality squad. We look forward to playing well and entertaining the fans this time around. Our squad looks well balanced, and it will be exciting to lead Quetta Gladiators this season.”
The Gladiators’ roster boasts a mix of experienced and emerging players, including platinum-level signings Finn Allen, Faheem Ashraf, and Mark Chapman. They begin their PSL X campaign against rivals Peshawar Zalmi on April 12th in Rawalpindi.
Meanwhile, the tournament organizers confirmed that the PSL X will feature 34 matches across four venues from April 11th to May 18th. Strict security measures, including thorough searches and a dedicated control room, are in place for the matches, beginning with the opening game between Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars. The defending champions, Islamabad United, will however be without Alex Carey, who withdrew due to domestic commitments in Australia. Rassie van der Dussen is expected to join the squad as a replacement.
