Sat Apr 12 13:30:33 UTC 2025: ## Kerala Government Rejects Live Streaming of IAS Officer’s Hearing
**Thiruvananthapuram, April 12, 2025** – The Kerala government has rejected a request to live stream the upcoming hearing of suspended IAS officer N. Prasanth before Chief Secretary Sarada Muraleedharan. The hearing, scheduled for April 26th, follows Prasanth’s February request for a recorded and live-streamed hearing where he planned to present serious allegations against Ms. Muraleedharan and other senior officials.
While an initial communication appeared to grant Prasanth’s request, the government clarified its position in an April 11th letter, stating it will not permit any recording or live streaming of the proceedings. Chief Secretary Muraleedharan confirmed this stance to *The Hindu*.
Prasanth, suspended in November 2024, had previously accused Additional Chief Secretary A. Jayathilak, IAS officer K. Gopalakrishnan, and Ms. Muraleedharan of unspecified serious misconduct. The government’s decision to bar recording comes despite an earlier acknowledgment of Prasanth’s request for audio-visual documentation of the hearing.
