Fri Apr 11 16:24:17 UTC 2025: ## KKR’s Bowling Masterclass Restricts CSK to Lowest-Ever Home Total in IPL
**Chennai, India –** Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) produced a stunning bowling performance to restrict Chennai Super Kings (CSK) to a paltry 103/9 in their Indian Premier League (IPL) clash on Friday. This is CSK’s lowest-ever total at their home ground, the MA Chidambaram Stadium.
Winning the toss and electing to bat first proved a costly decision for CSK as KKR’s spinners completely dominated the match. Sunil Narine was particularly impressive, conceding only 13 runs in his three-over spell without allowing a single boundary. Along with Varun Chakaravarthy and Moeen Ali, the trio claimed six wickets between them.
Shivam Dube (31 not out) top-scored for CSK, while Vijay Shankar (29) and Rahul Tripathi (16) offered some resistance. However, CSK’s batting lineup struggled against the consistent pressure applied by KKR’s bowlers. Several dropped catches, including one of Shankar on zero, gave CSK some reprieve, but it wasn’t enough to prevent their lowest IPL home total.
Former India coach Ravi Shastri, commentating on the match, offered a blunt assessment: “No excuses for this.”
The black-soil pitch clearly favoured spin bowling, significantly hindering CSK’s batting efforts. KKR’s disciplined bowling attack ensured CSK never recovered from early setbacks, including the loss of Devon Conway (12) and Rachin Ravindra early in the innings.
The victory sets up an exciting chase for KKR, with a relatively small target to defend against CSK.
