Sat Apr 12 09:30:00 UTC 2025: ## Sunny Deol’s “Jaat” Surpasses ₹15 Crore in Two Days, Defying Expectations

**MUMBAI, INDIA –** Sunny Deol’s action thriller, “Jaat,” has exceeded initial box office projections, raking in over ₹16.5 crore domestically in just two days of its release. The film, which opened on Thursday, April 13th, benefited from the partial Mahavir Jayanti holiday, although low advance bookings initially caused concern.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh reported that “Jaat” defied expectations, surpassing the predicted ₹7 crore opening day. Strong spot bookings, particularly in mass market circuits, propelled the film to a ₹9.62 crore Thursday debut and a further ₹7 crore on Saturday, according to industry tracker Sacnilk. While urban centers saw lower occupancy, single-screen theaters in rural areas showed strong footfalls.

Adarsh noted that while a dip on Friday (a working day) is possible, the Baisakhi weekend and the upcoming Ambedkar Jayanti holiday are expected to boost the film’s performance. The film’s success hinges on maintaining momentum throughout this extended weekend.

“Jaat,” directed by Gopichand Malineni and starring Sunny Deol as Brigadier Baldev Pratap Singh and Randeep Hooda as Ranatunga, has received positive audience response. The supporting cast, including Saiyami Kher, Regina Cassandra, Vineet Kumar Singh, Prashant Bajaj, and Jagapathi Babu, has also been praised. The film’s producers include Mythri Movie Makers, People Media Factory, and Zee Studios. The coming days will determine if “Jaat” can sustain its momentum and achieve a strong overall box office run.
