Sat Apr 12 08:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Warner Shrugs Off IPL Snub, Makes Record-Breaking PSL Debut

**KARACHI, PAKISTAN** – David Warner, snubbed by the Indian Premier League (IPL) at this year’s auction, has made a splash in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), becoming the most expensive player in the league’s history. The Karachi Kings acquired the Australian southpaw for a record Rs 2.58 crore, naming him captain.

Warner addressed the media ahead of his PSL debut on Saturday against the Multan Sultans, dismissing a reporter’s claim that he had faced significant online trolling from Indian fans for his move to the PSL. “This is the first I’ve heard of it,” Warner stated. “From my perspective, I want to play cricket. There’s an opportunity to come to the PSL. My international calendar didn’t allow me to come before, but now I want to compete, captain the Karachi Kings, and hopefully win the trophy.”

The former Australian international, who retired from international cricket last year, boasts an impressive T20 record of 12,913 runs in 399 matches. His acquisition marks a significant coup for the Karachi Kings, who drafted him in the Platinum category. He joins a squad including other notable players like Adam Milne, James Vince, and Hasan Ali. Warner’s presence is expected to significantly boost the Karachi Kings’ chances in the tournament.
