**Raigad, Maharashtra –** Union Home Minister Amit Shah led a high-profile delegation in paying homage to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Raigad Fort on Saturday, marking the 345th anniversary of the Maratha warrior king’s death. Accompanying Mr. Shah were Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, and BJP MPs Udayanraje Bhosale and Shivendrasinh Bhosale, both descendants of Shivaji Maharaj.
The delegation first offered floral tributes to Jijabai, Shivaji Maharaj’s mother, at Pachad near the fort. Later, Mr. Shah participated in various programs at Raigad Fort and had a lunch meeting with NCP MP Sunil Tatkare. While Mr. Tatkare stated that the luncheon would not involve political discussions, it comes amidst ongoing disagreements among the ruling Mahayuti coalition regarding the appointment of a guardian minister for Raigad district. The appointment of Aditi Tatkare to the post was initially made by Mr. Fadnavis but subsequently put on hold due to opposition from the Shiv Sena.
