Fri Apr 11 09:01:48 UTC 2025: ## Telangana BRS Accuses State Government of ₹10,000 Crore Land Scam

**Hyderabad, April 11, 2025** – The Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) has accused the Telangana Congress government of orchestrating a massive financial fraud involving the sale of a 400-acre land parcel in Kancha Gachibowli. BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao alleged that the deal, which involves mortgaging the land to raise ₹10,000 crore, is a scheme to enrich key government leaders.

Rao, addressing a press conference today, claimed the land, classified as forest land with significant tree cover, was undervalued to facilitate the sale to “friendly” real estate companies from Delhi and Mumbai. He highlighted discrepancies in land valuations, citing assessments ranging from ₹75 crore per acre in June 2024 to ₹41.6 crore per acre in November 2024. This devaluation, he argued, allowed the government to bypass borrowing limits set by the Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (FRBM) Act.

The BRS further alleges that a brokerage agency, working with a BJP leader from the state, received ₹169.84 crore for facilitating the transaction with ICICI Bank. Rao emphasized that the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TGIIC) pledged the land despite lacking ownership rights, a move he described as a violation of RBI norms. He asserted that the land was neither transferred nor mutated to TGIIC, mirroring the government’s stance on the University of Hyderabad land.

Rao announced his intention to report the alleged fraud to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO), Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He also promised to reveal the identity of the implicated BJP MP and details of the alleged quid pro quo deal shortly. The accusations represent a significant escalation in political tensions within the state.
