Thu Apr 10 18:50:00 UTC 2025: ## Hollywood Star Miles Teller Makes Bloomington Appearance to Promote Canned Cocktails
**BLOOMINGTON, IN —** Actor Miles Teller brought a touch of Hollywood glamour to Bloomington, Indiana on Tuesday, making a surprise appearance at Upstairs Pub to promote Long Drink, a canned cocktail brand he’s invested in. The visit, part of a nationwide college campus tour, saw Teller greeted by enthusiastic fans chanting his name and singing songs from his films, “Footloose” and “Top Gun: Maverick.”
Teller, who arrived from Toronto earlier that day, spent an hour and a half at the pub, signing autographs (he prefers these to selfies, having even signed a fan’s epi-pen in the past!), and chatting with patrons. His genuine enthusiasm for Long Drink, a Finnish canned cocktail with a history dating back to the 1952 Olympics, was evident. He even revealed that a Long Drink hat was one of the few possessions he salvaged from a house fire.
The event was co-organized by Long Drink CEO Evan Burns, an Indiana University alumnus. Burns explained that the company, launched in 2018, wasn’t initially aiming for massive success but rather a fun project. He acknowledged the unexpected challenges of starting a business, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and a strong product. Future college visits are planned, including stops in Lansing and Ohio State.
Bloomington residents turned out in force, with some attending specifically to see Teller, while others were already Upstairs Pub regulars. The atmosphere was lively, with students climbing on furniture for a better view and holding up memorabilia for the actor to sign, including a shirtless poster from “Top Gun: Maverick.” Teller shared that he enjoys the sugar-free version of the drink while preparing for shirtless scenes.
The event was a success for both Teller and Long Drink, generating significant buzz and introducing the brand to a new audience. It also continued Bloomington’s trend of attracting celebrities to promote alcoholic beverages, following previous appearances by Kendall Jenner and Ian Somerhalder. For several IU students, the experience was unforgettable, prompting them to reschedule their exams in order to attend.
