Thu Apr 10 15:14:10 UTC 2025: ## Thoothukudi MP Kanimozhi Distributes ₹3.21 Crore in Welfare Assistance

**THOOTHUKUDI, April 10, 2025** – Lok Sabha Member M.K. Kanimozhi distributed over ₹3.21 crore in welfare assistance in Thoothukudi on Thursday. The event, held at the district Collectorate, saw the distribution of:

* **₹2.28 crore** worth of medical equipment to 180 welfare centers across Thoothukudi and Kovilpatti health districts.
* **₹67.18 lakh** in three-wheeled scooters to 66 differently-abled beneficiaries.
* **₹54.02 lakh** in land ownership rights to 93 beneficiaries under the Revenue and Disaster Management Department.

Ms. Kanimozhi highlighted the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s commitment to uplifting the poor and marginalized through various schemes, citing the distributed aid as an example. She also noted that over 400 applications for petrol scooters with side wheels are pending, with a further distribution planned soon. Ms. Kanimozhi further emphasized the state’s ongoing commitment to the welfare of the differently-abled, tracing this dedication back to the late Chief Minister Kalaignar Karunanidhi.

The event was attended by Thoothukudi District Collector K. Elambahavath, Social Welfare and Women Empowerment Minister P. Geetha Jeevan, and other officials.
