Thu Apr 10 15:00:05 UTC 2025: ## Hyderabad Hit by Unexpected Summer Rains, Flights Diverted
**Hyderabad, April 10, 2025** – Parts of Hyderabad experienced a sudden downpour accompanied by strong winds Thursday evening, bringing much-needed relief from the day’s heat but also causing flight diversions and prompting warnings from authorities.
The unexpected summer rain, with Malkajgiri recording the highest rainfall at 9.5 mm, led to motorists seeking shelter and a welcome drop in temperature. However, the severe weather conditions forced two flights to be diverted. IndiGo flight 6E 6417 from Darbhanga and Air India flight AI 2531 from Mumbai were rerouted to Vijayawada and Nagpur respectively due to strong winds and thunderstorms affecting visibility at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA).
IndiGo issued a travel advisory warning passengers of potential delays and schedule changes due to the adverse weather. The airline stated that its teams were monitoring the situation closely.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, also the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister, instructed officials to remain vigilant as rain is expected to continue in some parts of the state for the next two days. He emphasized the need for precautionary measures.
