**Thiruvananthapuram, India** – India’s Vizhinjam International Seaport, operated by Adani Ports and SEZ Ltd (APSEZ), today welcomed the MSC Turkiye, the world’s largest eco-friendly container ship. The arrival marks a significant milestone for the port, India’s first mega transshipment container terminal.

The MSC Turkiye, operated by Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC), is a colossal vessel measuring 399.9 meters in length, 61.3 meters in width, and 33.5 meters in depth. Its capacity of 24,346 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) places it among the largest container ships ever built.

Vizhinjam’s strategic location, just 10 nautical miles from a major east-west shipping channel, makes it a crucial transshipment hub for the Indian subcontinent, connecting Europe, the Persian Gulf, Southeast Asia, and the Far East. The port is touted as a world-class, future-ready facility.
