**Salem, April 8, 2025** – A dispute over a loan led to a physical altercation between two Salem City Police officers on Monday. Sub-Inspector Tamil Raj and Head Constable Prem Nath, both stationed at Attaiyampatti police station, clashed after Prem Nath allegedly failed to repay a loan from Raj. The incident, which began with a verbal argument on Sunday evening, escalated into a physical fight.

Higher-ranking officials intervened after being notified of the incident. Reviewing CCTV footage, they subsequently transferred SI Tamil Raj to Kondalampatti police station and Head Constable Prem Nath to the Steel Plant police station. A full investigation into the matter is underway.
