Millen, a 6th-round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Penguins in 1977, enjoyed a 14-year NHL career. He played for six teams – Pittsburgh, Hartford, St. Louis, Quebec, Chicago, and Detroit – appearing in 602 regular season games. His best years were spent with the St. Louis Blues, where he led the league in shutouts during the 1988-89 season and finished fifth in Vezina Trophy voting.
