Tue Apr 08 04:41:57 UTC 2025: ## CRPF and Rotary Partner to Plant 3,000 Sandalwood Saplings in Bengaluru
**Bengaluru, April 8, 2025** – The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has embarked on a significant green initiative, partnering with Rotary Bangalore Midtown (RBM) to plant 3,000 sandalwood saplings on its 250-acre Bengaluru campus. The project aims to create green space in the rapidly expanding city and could eventually reach 10,000 trees, depending on resource availability.
This unique collaboration will see the saplings planted across the CRPF campus, transforming it into a substantial urban lung. A key feature of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is that any revenue generated from the commercial sale of the mature trees after 15 years will be channeled towards the welfare of CRPF martyrs’ families.
RBM President Palani Loganathan lauded the partnership, referring to the campus as “nature’s own bank,” highlighting the potential for significant long-term financial returns (up to 400 times the initial investment). The organization plans to involve Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) partners to support not only the tree planting but also the implementation of rainwater harvesting to enhance groundwater levels.
Mr. Loganathan expressed hope that this model will be replicated on other secure campuses across India, including those belonging to the military, BSF, and Air Force, promoting both environmental sustainability and economic benefits.
