**New Delhi, April 8, 2025** – Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, announced today that Congress-led parliamentary standing committees have submitted numerous recommendations aimed at improving the lives of Indians. Speaking following a Congress Working Committee meeting in Ahmedabad, Gandhi highlighted key proposals from various committees.

The Agriculture Committee, chaired by Charanjit Singh Channi, reiterated its call for a legally mandated Minimum Support Price (MSP) for farmers and suggested additional compensation for stubble collection, along with protective measures for farmers and fishermen. The Rural Development Committee, under Saptagiri Ulaka, advocated for strengthening the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) by removing bureaucratic hurdles.

The Education, Women, Children, Youth and Sports Committee, led by Digvijaya Singh, proposed increased teacher recruitment, reforms to prevent exam paper leaks, and higher, timely payments for Anganwadi workers. Finally, the External Affairs Committee, chaired by Shashi Tharoor, stressed the need for stronger protections for Indian migrant workers overseas.

Gandhi emphasized the Congress party’s dedication to public welfare, stating that they will continue to utilize all democratic avenues to champion the rights and well-being of Indian citizens, even in their current opposition role.
