**KASARAGOD, KERALA –** A dispute over firecrackers escalated into a violent clash between two families in Kasaragod, Kerala on Sunday night, resulting in four injuries and three arrests. The incident occurred at 4th Mile, Chengala.
Police have arrested Moideen (65), Azharuddin (29), and Mithilaj (24) in connection with the attack. According to authorities, the altercation began after the accused retaliated with firecrackers when questioned by members of the opposing family. The attackers allegedly used knives and swords, inflicting serious injuries.
Fawaz (20) sustained severe injuries and was admitted to a hospital in Mangaluru. Ibrahim Zainuddin (62), his son T.M. Munsheed (28), and Razak Mohammed received less serious injuries and were treated at a private hospital. All injured parties reside in Citizen Nagar, 4th Mile. Ibrahim Zainuddin was reportedly stabbed in the head and back while being held. His son and son-in-law were injured while attempting to intervene.
Police have registered a case against the arrested individuals and four others – Abdul Khader (alias Cheku), Mujju, Nafees, and an unidentified suspect – under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The investigation is ongoing.
