**LOS ANGELES** – Legendary filmmaker John Carpenter, renowned for his influential work in horror and beyond, was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday. The ceremony, marking the 2,806th star on the Walk, celebrated Carpenter’s significant contributions to motion pictures. His star is located at 7000 Hollywood Boulevard.

Carpenter, director of such genre-defining classics as *Halloween*, *The Thing*, and *Escape from New York*, was joined at the ceremony by his *The Thing* co-stars Kurt Russell and Keith David, marking their first public appearance together with Carpenter in 40 years.

The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce lauded Carpenter’s impact, noting his career began with the groundbreaking low-budget success of *Halloween* (1978), which remains highly influential nearly 50 years later. His work extends beyond horror to encompass science fiction (*Starman*), comedy-drama (*Memoirs of an Invisible Man*), and even music composition, with his *Halloween* score becoming iconic. This multifaceted talent recently earned him a lifetime achievement award from the Los Angeles Film Critics Association.

Carpenter continues to be active in the industry, serving as executive producer and composer for recent *Halloween* films, collaborating on comics and graphic novels, and recently returning to directing with the Peacock series *Suburban Screams*. He is also scheduled to perform concerts in Los Angeles later this October and November. Ana Martinez, Hollywood Walk of Fame Producer, stated that it is an honor to dedicate a star to such a talented and influential director.
