Mon Apr 07 15:04:07 UTC 2025: ## Kochi LPG Supply Resumes After Flash Strike

**KOCHI, April 7, 2025** – The supply of LPG from the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) bottling plant near Kochi resumed on Monday after a brief disruption caused by a flash strike. Loading and unloading workers staged a one-day strike on Saturday, April 5th, halting operations. The strike stemmed from a dispute between transporters and workers over shift assignments, with workers demanding adherence to a union-provided roster. Transporters argued this was an illegal strike and that they were unable to immediately comply with the demand.

While the strike briefly interrupted supplies on Saturday, LPG availability was not significantly affected, according to reports. Operations returned to near-normal levels on Monday following the resolution of a parking space issue raised by lorry drivers. The Kochi plant supplies several districts in Kerala, including Ernakulam, Thrissur, Kottayam, and Kozhikode.
