**Kochi, April 7, 2025** – The Kerala High Court has dismissed Malayalam actor Dileep’s appeal for a CBI investigation into a sexual assault case in which he is an accused. A division bench upheld a single judge’s earlier verdict rejecting the plea.
Dileep, who claims the investigation was unfair and tainted, argued that he was falsely implicated and that attempts were made to blackmail him. He alleged a concerted effort to spread rumors and implicate him, citing a complaint filed with the DGP regarding these alleged attempts. He further claimed undue influence on the investigating agency.
While upholding the dismissal, the High Court noted that some observations made by the single judge were unnecessary, particularly before the trial’s conclusion. The court clarified that these observations would not impact the ongoing trial. The special government pleader confirmed this. The case continues.
