Mon Apr 07 10:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Microsoft Employee Quits, Accuses Company of Complicity in Gaza Conflict

**REDMOND, WA –** A Microsoft software engineer, Vaniya Agrawal, resigned from the company during its 50th-anniversary celebration, publicly accusing CEO Satya Nadella, Bill Gates, and Steve Ballmer of complicity in the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Agrawal confronted the executives on stage, claiming that Microsoft technology had been used to kill tens of thousands of Palestinians.

“Fifty thousand Palestinians in Gaza have been murdered with Microsoft technology. How dare you. Shame on all of you for celebrating on their blood,” Agrawal reportedly shouted before being escorted from the event. She further criticized Microsoft’s alleged $133 million contract with the Israeli Ministry of Defense, accusing the company of being a “digital weapons manufacturer” and using its AI and Azure technologies to enable violence.

Agrawal’s protest follows a similar incident earlier this year where five employees were removed from a meeting with Nadella for raising the same concerns. Another former Microsoft employee, Ibtihal Aboussad, also recently resigned after accusing AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman of being a “war profiteer” for the company’s alleged role in the conflict. Suleyman acknowledged the protest but offered no further response.

In her resignation letter, Agrawal stated that she could no longer remain employed by a company “participating in this violent injustice.” She urged her remaining colleagues to use their influence to hold Microsoft accountable.

This incident underscores growing internal dissent at Microsoft over its involvement in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. The company has yet to issue a public statement addressing the accusations. The controversy highlights the ethical challenges facing tech giants whose technologies are increasingly used in military and security applications.
