Mon Apr 07 10:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Masters Practice Round Cancelled Due to Severe Weather Threat

**Augusta, GA** – The Masters Tournament has announced the cancellation of Monday’s scheduled practice round due to severe weather concerns. Augusta National Golf Club will remain closed to patrons, and all parking lots will be shut until further notice. The decision was made Sunday evening in response to a First Alert issued by News 12 meteorologists predicting flash flooding and the possibility of strong to severe thunderstorms overnight and into Monday.

The National Weather Service has placed the Augusta area under a marginal risk for excessive rainfall and severe thunderstorms with damaging winds. While players were seen practicing on the range after the Drive, Chip and Put National Finals concluded Sunday, the inclement weather has forced the postponement of the first practice round.

Augusta National will provide another update by 8 a.m. Monday. Despite the delay, the scheduled Masters activities, including the annual State of the Masters press conference with Chairman Fred Ridley and player press conferences, will still proceed as planned. The tournament itself remains scheduled to begin Thursday.
