Sat Apr 05 22:00:00 UTC 2025: ## Kentucky Wildcats Land Top Transfer Point Guard Jaland Lowe

**LEXINGTON, KY –** The Kentucky Wildcats have significantly bolstered their backcourt, landing highly touted point guard Jaland Lowe from Pitt. Sources confirmed to ESPN on Saturday that Lowe, a third-team All-ACC selection, has committed to Kentucky after meeting with the coaching staff earlier this week.

Lowe, considered one of the best point guards available in the transfer portal, enjoyed a breakout season for the Panthers, averaging 16.8 points, 5.5 assists, and 4.2 rebounds per game. His impressive performances included back-to-back 20-point games to start the season, a 28-point outing against Ohio State, and standout performances against Louisville (16 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists) and Boston College (15 points, 10 assists). This represents a substantial improvement from his freshman year, where he averaged 9.6 points and 3.3 assists.

Lowe joins a Kentucky backcourt already featuring top-25 recruits Jasper Johnson and Acaden Lewis. The Wildcats also expect the return of Collin Chandler and Travis Perry, and potentially the return of second-team All-SEC star Otega Oweh. Lowe is Kentucky’s second transfer addition this spring, following Tulane freshman Kam Williams. Coach Mark Pope is clearly building a formidable perimeter attack for the upcoming season.
