**New Delhi, April 6, 2025** – The Supreme Court collegium has appointed Justice Arun Palli, currently a judge at the Punjab and Haryana High Court, as the new Chief Justice of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. The appointment was recommended by the collegium, headed by Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna, in a meeting held on April 4th. Justice Palli, born September 18, 1964, was elevated to the Punjab and Haryana High Court bench on December 28, 2013, and designated a senior advocate in 2007. His appointment marks a significant change in the leadership of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
