**Bengaluru, April 5, 2025** – The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) announced the successful atmospheric re-entry of the PSLV Orbital Experimental Module-4 (POEM-4) on April 4, 2025, at 8:03 a.m. IST. The module, launched on December 30, 2024, as part of the PSLV-C60 mission, carried 24 payloads and remained in orbit for over three months.

ISRO closely monitored POEM-4’s descent, utilizing data from its own radar facilities and the United States Space Command (USSPACECOM). The agency employed engine restarts to de-orbit the module to a nearly circular orbit before passively venting remaining fuel to minimize the risk of accidental break-up.

The controlled re-entry over the Indian Ocean marks a significant achievement in ISRO’s commitment to sustainable space operations and debris mitigation, aligning with its Debris Free Space Mission (DFSM) goals.
