**Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu –** Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday urged the Tamil Nadu government to adopt Tamil-medium instruction for medical education, aiming to benefit underprivileged students. Speaking at the inauguration of projects worth over ₹8,300 crore in Rameswaram, including the nation’s first vertical lift railway sea bridge at Pamban, Modi emphasized the importance of promoting the Tamil language globally.
He highlighted ongoing efforts to spread Tamil language and heritage internationally, subtly criticizing Tamil Nadu leaders for not signing official correspondence in Tamil. Modi also addressed concerns regarding funding allocation to the state, stating that despite increased funding, some continue to express dissatisfaction. His visit coincided with Ram Navami, and he linked Lord Ram’s governance to the principles of nation-building.
