Sun Apr 06 01:40:00 UTC 2025: ## Mariners Face Old Friend Ray, Look to Bounce Back After Wild Loss

**SEATTLE, WA** – The Seattle Mariners will look to even the score tonight against the San Francisco Giants, facing off against former Mariner Robbie Ray in a 6:05 PM PDT matchup at T-Mobile Park. Yesterday’s game saw a dramatic 10-9 loss for the Mariners, a four-hour affair filled with lead changes and a depleted bullpen. Starter Carlos Vargas, despite a strong effort, took the loss.

Tonight, the Mariners will counter with Bryce Miller making his second start of the season. With the bullpen exhausted after yesterday’s game, the team hopes Miller can provide a deep outing. Manager Scott Servais has opted for a righty-heavy lineup, with Cal Raleigh DHing after catching the entire game yesterday and Garvín, taking over behind the plate. Dylan Moore will start at third, while Donovan Solano looks to break his hitless streak at first. Jorge Polanco, despite a strong performance yesterday, will be benched.

The Giants, meanwhile, will field a similar lineup to yesterday’s, with Sam Huff replacing Patrick Bailey at catcher.

The Mariners made significant bullpen changes after yesterday’s game, optioning lefty Tayler Saucedo to Tacoma and selecting the contract of righty Jesse Hahn. Hahn, returning to the majors after battling injuries, will be added to the roster. To make room on the 40-man roster, righty Cody Bolton was designated for assignment.

The game can be followed on ROOT Sports with Aaron Goldsmith and Angie Mentink, or on 710 AM Seattle Sports with Rick Rizzs and Gary Hill Jr.
