Sun Apr 06 06:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Lakhs Witness Grand Sita Rama Kalyanam in Bhadradri
**Bhadradri, Telangana, April 6, 2025** – The town of Bhadradri, also known as “Dakshina Ayodhya,” witnessed a spectacular Sita Rama Kalyanam (celestial wedding ceremony) on the occasion of Sri Rama Navami. Lakhs of devotees flocked to the holy site to witness the event, which was held with great fanfare at the aesthetically decorated Mithila Stadium.
The Thirukalyana Mahotsavam commenced at 10:30 AM, culminating in the much-anticipated celestial wedding performed during the auspicious Abhijit Lagna. The temple authorities made elaborate arrangements for the massive influx of devotees, preparing 200,000 laddus (sweet balls) and 200 quintals of flower garlands for distribution. The RTC Khammam region deployed 197 special buses to facilitate transportation to Bhadradri.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and his wife attended the ceremony, offering silk clothes and pearl garlands to the deities. They were joined by other dignitaries including the Deputy CM and his wife, Minister Ponguleti and his wife, and Chief Secretary Shanti Kumari. The CM and his wife were welcomed with a traditional Purnakumbham ceremony upon their arrival. To ensure everyone could view the event, LED screens were set up across the 24 sectors into which the Mithila Stadium grounds were divided.
The celebrations continue with the Sri Rama Pattabhishekam (coronation ceremony) scheduled for Monday, to be graced by the Governor, Jishnudev Varma. Considering the summer heat, the authorities arranged for cool sheds and the distribution of drinking water and buttermilk to the devotees.
In a unique gesture highlighting the state government’s recent initiative to distribute ‘sanna biyyam’ (fine rice), CM Revanth Reddy will have lunch at the home of a beneficiary, Burram Srinivas Rao, in Burugampadu mandal. This reflects the government’s commitment to connect with the people and celebrate the success of its welfare schemes.
