BELAGAVI, April 6, 2025 – Belagavi City Corporation (BCC) Mayor Mangesh Pawar has pledged to resolve the ongoing confusion surrounding e-khatas (electronic property records) for residential and other properties in the city. Addressing concerns raised by residents, Mayor Pawar announced the creation of a dedicated desk to handle e-khata-related grievances and the release of a list detailing necessary documentation. He also committed to collaborating with the Deputy Mayor on public grievance meetings across various wards.
Further addressing citizen concerns, the Mayor assured the city would not face water scarcity this summer, despite ongoing water supply projects. He vowed to expedite the completion of these projects and simplify the permission process for future water supply works. He clarified that no permission is needed for water can distribution businesses.
MLA Abhay Patil highlighted ongoing water infrastructure improvements, citing the connection of nearly 88% of bore wells with pump sets and over 90,000 new tap connections. He also emphasized that these projects are planned with a 25-year population projection in mind.
Deputy Mayor Vani Vilas Joshi focused on cleanliness initiatives, outlining efforts to improve waste collection and raise public awareness about waste segregation. She also indicated openness to reviewing the upper limit for the journalists’ healthcare scheme.
