**Jeju Island, South Korea (News 1, Korean Meteorological Administration) –** Jeju Island is currently experiencing delightful spring weather, with vibrant canola flowers in full bloom attracting many visitors to Seogwipo’s Saekdal-dong Eongdeungmul Valley. However, this pleasant weather is expected to be short-lived.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), while the country will enjoy mostly sunny skies under the influence of a high-pressure system until the 8th, light rain is anticipated in central regions late on the 7th and into the early hours of the 8th. The rainfall is expected to be minimal (under 5mm).
The KMA warns of a significant temperature difference between day and night, with daytime temperatures expected to be 2-5 degrees Celsius warmer than usual from the 8th. The temperature difference could exceed 15 degrees Celsius nationwide, reaching over 20 degrees Celsius in parts of Chungcheongbuk-do and the southern inland regions. Strong winds, with gusts reaching up to 15m/s (33mph) nationwide and 20m/s (44mph) in mountainous areas, are forecast from the afternoon of the 7th. Marine warnings are also in place for the eastern seas from the 8th.
Rain is expected to return from the 9th, starting in central regions in the afternoon and spreading nationwide by the 10th. This rainy period will be followed by a return to sunny and warm spring weather from the 11th onwards. Citizens are advised to check weather forecasts and dress accordingly, and take precautions against strong winds and potential damage.
