Sat Apr 05 03:10:00 UTC 2025: ## Seattle Legend Sue Bird Awaits Naismith Hall of Fame Decision

**Seattle, WA** – Seattle Storm legend Sue Bird, widely considered the greatest women’s point guard of all time, is among the 17 finalists for induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. The announcement will be made Saturday morning during the men’s NCAA tournament Final Four.

Bird’s illustrious career spans Olympic gold medals, WNBA championships across three decades, and numerous accolades. She led the Storm to four WNBA titles (2004, 2010, 2018, 2020), holds the league’s all-time assists record, and boasts a remarkable list of achievements at the collegiate and international levels. Her No. 10 jersey was retired by the Storm in 2021, and a Seattle street now bears her name. This year, she will also be inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.

Other notable finalists include Carmelo Anthony (reportedly already elected), Dwight Howard, and fellow WNBA stars Maya Moore and Sylvia Fowles. The 2025 class will be enshrined in September at the Mohegan Sun. The induction would cap a phenomenal career for Bird, leaving only the Naismith honor to complete her already impressive legacy. Fellow Storm great Lauren Jackson was inducted into the Naismith Hall of Fame in 2021.
